Thank you philmoz.

I wonder if also DOF calculator shows the right values. For example, if I focus an object from the distance of 1 cm and set the least value of focus, the value of SD is .069. Isn't it too little?

Thanks Phil, I will compile and post a new build later today.

EDIT: Attached is the the current build.  It should fix the focus equivalence problem.  The next post is the current DE build.

Standard CHDK warnings apply (Use at your own risk!).

NEW USERS - make sure you read the SX130IS CHDK wiki-> http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/SX130IS

Here is the German Version (CHDK-DE).  It is a little different than the international version ( a bit more experimental), but should work fine, and is based on current build.

See the preceeding message for standard CHDK warnings. (No really. It's important stuff.)

I took few more stereo pairs today.  Here is a Red-Cyan anaglyph of my front porch.

Still not perfect, but it's getting better.

hy,
good work up to here :-)
but here're my problems:
1.) in long expositure pictures, there's a kind of blue veil in the upper left. can i avoid it?
2.) is it possible to record sound with the 130is? (/where?) (<-- not in video, only sound...)
thank you :-)

Still not perfect, but it's getting better.

Notice that one image is higher than the other, something impossible with normal vision, your brain will not be happy !
Easily corrected manually with SPM.

Alternatively, use SPM's automatic adjustment (ALT + A).

@Klebl00d

1.) It's probably a fragment of lens tube - when you use a RAW file you see the picture, as it was on matrix. Canon software cuts corners. See also: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=5691.msg61887#msg61887 (msg #269)
2.) unfortunetly - no. I would like to have it also, but nobody have done this. Yet.

@microfunguy - Thanks for your advice.  There is a lot to learn with regards to 3D/Stereo pictures, but SPM almost makes it easy.  One of these days I'll be able to get some images to be proud of!

Unfortunately I only have one camera, so for now I can't take any 3D pics of moving objects.

Hey guys! Got the SX130 a few days ago and loaded up CHDK on it. It's been sweet! But...there's an interesting problem developing :O

I shot some 3-min long exposure night shots tonight with shutter override. As it was processing (took 3 minutes...) I noticed a faint electro/mechanical sound coming from the lens. It sounds like a scratchy/grinding sound. Very faint, continuous. I am sure the sound wasn't there before I did the super long exposure...

So.....do any of your SX130s make that sound? Is this normal?

Also, do you think there may be cooling issues running the camera at long shutter speeds? The sensor is CCD...don't they tend to heat up quick?

The SX130IS makes a sound coming from the lens at all times when the camera is on, even when the lens is retracted.
I dont like it, but have learned to live with it.

If you record videos in a dead quiet room, you will hear the noise in the recording too. Thankfully it is okay in 99% of situations.
