Downloads and Updates

NOTE: SDM 1.86 is not officially released but may be obtained by using ASSIST
Many more cameras are supported than detailed below but the documentation has not yet been updated.

Ver 1.84 -> 1.85

SDM 1.85 adds support for 99 (plus duplicates) firmware versions and 56 cameras:

New camera supported are the following (main CHDK porters in brackets) :-

IXUS105/SD1300 (cLOud)
S95 (waldo)

RAW files are now always saved with a DNG header file.
Using a SanDisk Extreme III 2GB SD memory card, raw saving times are 0.8 sec(A460), 0.9 sec (S95) and 0.95 sec (A620).

The RAW images may be fullsize, stereo image strips or in-camera composite images created from multiple strips.
This allows the creation of high-resolution 360 degree panoramas, scientific or creative 'streak' images or images recording the entire periphery of a rotating object.
A mixed folder of such images may be quickly converted to DNG and displayed as a slideshow on a Windows PC or a Mac PC.

Minimal raw processing on the camera enables fastest shooting.
When capturing strip images, the autofocus led is flashed for 10 msec after each raw strip is saved to signal an external controller that it may rotate the camera to the next position.

As always, it is best to delete your existing CHDK.CFG file in order to avoid any problems.

The TEXTS subfolder contains a text file that may be displayed on the camera and describes the shortcut keys available.
shortcut.deu is a German version, French, Spanish and Hungarian versions can be supported if the appropriate file is translated.
Please forward translated versions via the contact email at the Yahoo SDM Group.

To determine the firmware version of a camera, simply take a photo and use Dave Mitchell's 'ACID' programme.

NOTE:The G11, IXUS95,IXUS100, IXUS105,IXUS980, S90, S95, SX120IS and SX200IS do not use the standard CFG file, they use a file with a numeric value after 'CFG'.
These must be copied to the card manually and should not be renamed apart from removing the .L or .R extension.
Use the files supplied in the CONFIGS folder.

(a number of recent cameras have new palettes, often with a restricted range of colours in playback mode).

If you wish to change the arrangement of the screen items, use the layout Editor in the Advanced menu.
On exiting ALT mode, the CFG file will be updated and you may like to save a back-up copy on your PC.

Tom Martin's 'SDM Basic Shooting Guide'

Download the firmware version below for your camera and also 'Common_Files.zip'
If you downloaded the 1.83 version of that file, the updates in 1.84 are to \TEXTS\shortcut.txt and the addition of script TLAPSE.BAT.
That script is identical to time_lapse.bas but the shorter name is more suitable for parameter-set support.

Unzip all files into the same folder.
Tom Martin's 'SDM Basic Shooting Guide' is included in the 'Common_Files.zip'.
